There are many graduate schools across the US and the UK that offer online Master of Public Health programmes. These online master’s degrees are usually designed for part-time study, allowing health professionals to focus on their careers full-time while upskilling or reskilling part-time.

Among them, several top-tier schools stand out. For example, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the US and Imperial College London in the UK are among the elite institutions offering Master of Public Health degree programmes on a part-time, online basis.

Today, I’d like to focus on Ivy League schools that offer online Master of Public Health degree programmes. If you’re interested in non-Ivy online master’s degree programmes but from schools at Ivy League calibre, feel free to register for my newsletter so you don’t miss any updated blog posts about more continuing education and online learning opportunities.

Without further ado—I know what you’re thinking—yes, Harvard University offers an Master of Public Health programme on an online, part-time basis. Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health provides the Master of Public Health – Generalist (Online) programme.

The two-year, part-time, fully online programme offers students a rigorous educational experience while giving them the flexibility needed to pursue a degree while working full-time. The tuition fee is $37,170 per year (as of the 2025/26 rate).

The upside is that Harvard T.H. School of Public Health offers a range of scholarship opportunities. The School encourages all applicants (domestic, international, and undocumented) to complete the grant/scholarship application regardless of their level of financial need.

According to Harvard’s statistics, 50% of students in the Master of Public Health – Generalist (Online) programme receive partial scholarship support—awards range from $5,000 to $20,000.

For very promising students, you can also consider applying for the Presidential Scholars Programme. The Harvard President’s Office funds the Master of Public Health – Generalist (Online) for talented graduate students with financial need and a strong interest in public-service careers. At Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, the Presidential Scholars programme funds outstanding master’s students, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Each year, approximately 10 students from across all Master of Public Health programmes (both on-site and online) receive grants covering their full tuition through this programme.

However, if your professional position is at an executive level or you’re trending in that direction in your health policy career, then Yale School of Public Health may be a more suitable choice for you.

Yale School of Public Health offers the Online Executive Master of Public Health programme. This is a two-year, part-time programme with a hybrid online/in-person schedule designed for working professionals. That’s true; the Executive Master of Public Health programme at Yale is in hybrid mode rather than fully online. So, you would need to spend some time on campus to fulfil your degree requirements.

If studying mostly online while spending some time on-site to immerse yourself in the academic atmosphere at Yale fits your preference and schedule, then you should definitely consider this Master of Public Health degree programme.

The tuition fee is $36,600 per year (as of the 2025/26 rate). Unfortunately, internal scholarships are not available, so you might need to check with external funders or your workplace to see if they can cover your tuition fees.

Other than Harvard and Yale, Brown School of Public Health also offers an Master of Public Health degree programme. This degree programme is 100% online!

In 16 to 24 months, you can graduate ready to further your career. If you take more courses (note: Brown uses courses instead of credits to calculate your learning progress) per term, you can earn your Ivy League online master’s degree in less than two years.

Better still, Brown accepts applications in the summer, fall, and spring of each year. So, you can basically apply for the programme all year round, although application deadlines are fixed. Early action applications are available too. If you want to receive application decisions earlier, Brown’s flexibility is perfect for you.

The entire master’s programme costs $65,208 (as of the 2025/26 rate), which is cheaper than the tuition fees for the entire programmes offered by Harvard and Yale.

And a final note, graduates from Brown’s Master of Public Health degree programme benefit from strong placement rates—99% of them are employed within six months of graduation.

So, are any of the above programmes for you? If you want to stay in the loop for more continuing education and online learning opportunities, please feel free to sign up for my newsletter so you don’t miss my latest recommendations.
